The OPPO Reno range is one of the most affordable devices on the market today. Coming in at just S$399, its affordability caters to many consumers who are looking to get their first high-end device or upgrade from a mid-range phone. What’s even more impressive is that it comes with high quality camera technology and a sleek design. However, if you are on the lookout for a device that gives you more bang for your buck yet still provides you with premium features, then the OPPO Reno 8 might be right up your alley. Although not as feature-rich as its older brother OPPO Reno, it still packs quite a punch at its price point.

What’s so special about the OPPO Reno 8?

The OPPO Reno 8 is a great device that gives the user a lot of bang for their buck. In fact, it is one of the most affordable devices that comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset. The chipset is used in many high-end premium devices today. Therefore, the fact that it is being sold at such an affordable price is impressive. The OPPO Reno 8 comes in three colors: Black, Blue, and Red. The latter two colors feature a gradient finish which transitions from one color to the next. However, if you are looking for the most premium device, the black one will fit the bill. Furthermore, the device also features a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display. This means that you get a high-quality screen that is also energy efficient. This is especially beneficial if you are one to use your phone for long hours.

Which Color of the OPPO Reno 8 Should You Get?

If you are someone who likes to stand out from the crowd and loves to accessorize, then the Blue version is right up your alley. On the other hand, if you are more of the subtle type who prefers to keep it simple, then Red is the perfect choice for you. However, if you are someone who values the functionality over design, then the Black version is the one for you. It’s subtle design is something that is easy to blend in and go unnoticed.

Quality Room
The first feature that we will discuss is the quality room. The device has a dual-mic noise cancellation feature that allows you to enjoy clear and crisp calls without any interruptions. Therefore, you can focus on the task at hand without having to deal with an annoying background noise. The OPPO Reno 8 also features a 32-bit Hi-Fi audio technology. This technology allows you to enjoy high-quality audio from apps such as Spotify, YouTube, and more. Therefore, you can truly experience music the way it is supposed to be heard.

Design and Build Quality

The OPPO Reno 8 features a design that is minimalistic yet sturdy. The device has a ceramic back panel for protection against scratches and drops. On the other hand, the edges and the frame are made of a combination of metal and glass. Therefore, you can be rest assured that this device will last you a long time without showing signs of wear and tear. The device also features a USB-C port which is a welcome change from the traditional Micro-USB port. Furthermore, the device also comes equipped with a dual-Sim slot and a third-party storage card option. Furthermore, the device weighs in at 200 grams and measures at 8.3mm in thickness. Therefore, you can be rest assured that you won’t be pressing your fingers or hands against your ears after carrying the device in your pocket for a long time.

Software and User Experience

The OPPO Reno 8 offers a smooth and intuitive software experience. This can be attributed to its ColorOS 6.0 operating system. It features a simplistic design that is easy to navigate through. However, it also offers you the freedom to customize your device to suit your liking through the app drawer. Therefore, if you are someone who is not a fan of stock Android and values added functionality, then the OPPO Reno 8 is the perfect device for you. It also comes with a built-in sharing feature that allows you to transfer files from one device to another.

Verdict: Should you buy the OPPO Reno 8?
If you are someone who is looking to get a high-end device without breaking the bank, then the OPPO Reno 8 would be a great choice. It comes with all the bells and whistles that one would expect from a high-end device, albeit at a much cheaper price. Furthermore, it also comes with a few surprise features that can only be found in top of the line devices. Therefore, if you are looking to upgrade your device, you should definitely consider this device.
