The best way to drive traffic to your site (paid and not paid)

How can I drive traffic to my website?
Answer these questions:

How active do your competitors communicate with TA (brand profile in Disqus, for example);
How often do they publish on external blogs (TA assessment of such blog is needed);
Do they get published on high authority resources that have your TA;

What sort of material do they publish;
Do they buy backlinks?
This data should suffice to start thinking about your own steps, namely:

Creating engaging content for your audience on external blogs (guest-posting);
Keeping track* of topical content and work with your audience in comments;
Creating video tutorials/reviews of your services/products;
Share successful use cases of your clients on external resources;
Creating shareable content (infographics, etc.);
* - you can use mentioning tools like mention.com, brand24.com or Google Alerts

If your competitors have been very active throughout comments sections under relevant articles but aren't any more, this might signify that their return on marketing investments (ROMI) for such actions was low, so think if it's a good fit for your business.

Your Opponents Missed Opportunities
